Before I watched the video on the old west in class I thought it was more about cowboys, bank robberies, and train jacking. The cowboys I thought about were Billy The Kid, Jesse James, and Buffalo Bill. I thought their were a lot of bank robberies because of Hollywood’s movies about the old west. The train jacking I thought about a lot was the ones that the banditos rode up on horseback and took the train over and then took all the money and threw all the people off.
My ideas of the old west weren’t as accurate as what I thought they were going to be. The three reasons that held me back from this was that there was Indians already in the west that I never even thought about, the land in the west was supposed to be farmed, and the movies set the Indians out to be the bad guys and the whites were always the victims. I never really thought about the Indians because I never thought about the Indians living in the west . I didn’t think of the land being farmed because I thought it was boring for the west because I thought of all the gun fights and everything of that nature. The whites were always set out to be the victims and that wasn’t true to be perfectly honest because they were taking the Indians land that they practically gave to the whites and how do they repay the Indians by giving them small pox victims blankets and getting dogs to ripe them apart.
The events that were mentioned in the movie that I thought was very strange was the Alamo and the custard war. Mexico was forced to fight for there land at the Alamo. We met them on Mexican land and we invaded them to take over the Alamo. Then Texas legalized slavery afterwards so it didn’t help the cause. The Custard war was mentioned and I thought it was a very interesting battle. The custard war was fought against the Indians and then custard failed to take the land from the Indians. The Indians then were always protected in their land.
This video did make me doubt some other things that I have learned in the past years because I never thought of the west as farming and gun fighting as dirty as it was . The gun fighting was so dirty back then the movies showed that at high noon the men would meet and shoot but gun fighting back then it was getting shot in the back and so on and so forth.

Hello, my name is Tim C. and I am in 1st period 20th Century U.S. history. My expectations for this year are getting to learn about World War II and the Great Depression. I think WWII was an important part of U.S. history and I would love to learn more about this subject. The Great Depression is also not to be overlooked.
I would also like to use the technology in class to improve my skills, and to acquire new learning processes. By using new technology it will make my life easier and others as well. With multiple techniques I can experience alternative ways of learning.
My name is Ashley Dietz, I am sixteen years old and I’m a junior at New Brighton. I’m going to BCCTC for Food prep and Service. I absolutely love to read and cook, I spend most of my time at home or with my close friends.
What I expect to learn from 20th Century US History is obviously about the history of the united states. I would think we will discuss the different wars that happened with the US and I also believe we will study the development the united states has gone through over the many years.
What I expect to learn from the technology is how to use different techniques using different technological equipment. I also think we will learn how to do different projects on different pieces of technology.
Ten years after the devastating attack known as 911, justice has been done. On May 1, 2011 U.S. helicopters ferrying elite counter terrorism troops into the compound identified by the CIA as Bin Laden’s hideout. U.S troops went in and shot Bin Laden after he and his bodyguards resisted the assault. Three adult males were also killed in the raid, including one of bin Laden’s sons. One of Bin Laden’s sons, Hamza, is a senior member of al Qaeda. U.S. officials also said one woman was killed when she was used as a shield by a male combatant, and two other women were injured. With the death of Osama Bin Laden and the fact that U.S troops passed over into Pakistan; I feel Pakistan will feel threatened along with the many who looked up to Bin Laden, causing a result in retaliation and hatred.
Hey my name is Chris in Mr. Sal’s/ Miss Byers’s class period 9. Years before the Tuskegee Airmen there was only white american pilots. After WWI African Americans tried to become pilots but where not accepted in. The Tuskegee Airmen came together to become the first African Americans to be pilots. They cam together to see if African Americans can fly planes in battle. They did become pilots but some did not. Some of the pilots dead in training or in during war. Some of their attitudes changed when others in training deaded or left , so some changed because they where scaried. In war men dead and the men who where close to them changed a lot. Also some of the men changed when they won some part of the war. When some one got a medal they changed big time because they earned something for doing something right. I think since the airmen achevied so much people started thinking different about them. That they are good or can fly a plane or trustworth. After the Tuskegee Airmen there are many African American pilots.
Jesse and I thought about the movie, and what it means to us. The aspects of the movie are found in our assignment, you will read about what the Tuskegee Airmen were all about. We both expressed our thoughts and what we learned from the movie amd how we think it happened. Jesse and I typed the blog on individual computers with the same post. We both contributed to the assignment equally as a group. We used the time in the computer lab given to us and at home.
