Tuskegee Airmen

On June 27, 1939 congress passed the civilian pilot training act which was sponsored by the United States to train civilian pilots. On September 25, 1939 the congress approved of the Tuskegee Institution to train African American pilots. Late February of 1940 they approved for Tuskegee to get their own airport and no longer needing Montgomery airport for their training.
