Osama

The fact that Osama Binladen has been killed brings up more questions then answers. Sure we have captured of our biggest rivalries we’ve been waiting to find over the years, but now that we have him killed, what is to come? Anything is possible. Who next is to come up and fill his position? What unpredictable invents are going to happen like with Binladen? We don’t know what is going to happen and we cant prepare for it if we don’t know who, what, when, or where it’ll come. We have to be aware that his men are just as dangerous as he once was. Though Binladen being gone may seem like such an accomplishment, it really just brings into terms other possible disastrous events that can happen. This will continue till the war events are over, and who knows how long that could be.

WWI game

Hello, this is Megan Sylvester from Sal’s period 5 class. During the WWI Game I was the empire Great Britain. Throughout the game we got economic points which where our form of buying things such as Colonies, Armies, Navies, and Industries. With our economic points we bought more Navies almost every time. We also bought a few colonies and industries to up our number of economic points each round. We did this so we could get more points towards the amount of Navies we wanted to buy. We bought Navies, for they would protect us if we where to go into battle or to be attacked. We also signed many treaties in the game, so that we could be protected and get help if attacked. Once those empires went into battle or got attack we would leave them, for we knew that they would loose and we didn’t want to loose. When we went into battle though we teamed up with other teams with treaties because we needed their help to win, which ended up working. The outcome was great; we won the world war battle, which is what we intended to do. Throughout the game i would only change one thing, which would be buying for colonies and industries to up our economic points from the very beginning. This would help us get more of the amount of Navies we wanted to keep our empire strong and safe. Through this game I realized that if you want to stay strong you have to give up things to get others in return. Also, you can’t always trust people or rely on others because they can always lie and go behind what that say. The world is a rough place, and you have to fight for yourself.

Urban Growth

Hello, this is Megan Sylvester from Mr. Sal’s period six 20th century class. In class we are going over what went on during the Progressive Era. I have learned that during this era there were multiple problems that greatly affected the people in ways such as their health, income, living environment, and more. All having an effect from urban growth gone way too far.
Urban growth dealt with the rapid expansion of the United States. There were hundreds of people immigrated and people where moving into the cities all mostly for one thing, jobs. Everyone needed money and all the jobs where located in the big cities where there were big companies, factories, and anything else. This caused people to keep moving in and the cities to grow larger and larger. It got to the point where families of 8 had to live on one room apartments; apartments housed on average 1.9 people per room. Image sharing a room so small with your whole family; it’d be way too crowded for my liking. Also, the jobs that where normally open to the people who lived there where taken by the immigrants. So this left many poor with no job and no way of taking care of their families.
Though through all these problems it took many things to attempt to stop the urban growth. Many laws where made to help all the negative things happening from the urban growth: crime, death, disease, racism, and much more. Slowly the laws took part and helped to control the cities that over populated at too fast of a pace. In a way this helped, things settled down, but if you compare it to how today is there still is urban growth. Everyone is looking for ways to make money and sport there family; everyone wants to be at the top. Cities are where the jobs are, which is where the money is made. This causes more people living in the city, more pollution, and more expansions for more jobs. I believe there will always be urban growth. Money is always a problem in our country, and cities are the best place to find one. As long as people need jobs and money there will be urban growth in the cities.

Course expectation blog

I am Megan s, I am in sal’s 6th period 20th century class. In this class this year I would like to learn a lot about the holocaust and such things like famous people during that time. I have read a lot about the holocaust so far and it really interests me. I also would like to learn how to use all the new websites we are signing up for, like the one I am currently using. The websites are all new to me so I’m not to sure how to navigate and what all the website has to offer to me. I would like to learn all of this to further my education on the stuff I don’t already know but that I’m interested in. I expect to learn about important events that have happened and about important people that is basic information that I don’t know. With the technology I expect to know how to navigate everything and to actually use the websites outside of this class.
