Osama Bin Laden Dead

Osama Bin Laden was killed by U.S. Special forces on May 1, 2011. The Special forces team located Bin Laden inside his mansion in Pakistan. Once killed, the body of Bin Laden was taken to be buried in the sea. I believe that this was a great happening, although it may lead to further and far greater acts of retaliation by the Pakistan and Afghanistan people, because we have finally found the man we have been searching for for ten years.

WWI Game

Hello, I am Rich S. from Mr.Sal’s 6th period 20th Century class. In the WWI game that my class play I was part of the Russian empire, which was allied with the US of A, Germany, and France.

For two rounds I spent all my economic points on industry which brought in more economic points to spend, then on every third round I would spend all the economic points on navy. I first made treaties with France, Great Britain, Austria Hungarian, and the Ottoman Empire, but I was offered a great deal by the Germany, and US of A alliance, to break my treaties with the Great Britain, Austria Hungarian, and Ottoman empires and join Germany and the US. I am pleased with my country’s outcome because we did a tremendous job building our forces, although our alliance was defeated in the end we still put up a great fight. If we were to play this game again I wouldn’t break the alliance that I make first. I have a much greater understanding of how diplomacy works, it all depends on who you are allied with, if you are allied with a country with a large military, you would have no problem defending against an enemy country. Also if you had a large military and no resources and you allied with a country with an abundant amount of resources and a small military, you could provide them protection for resources.

Caring for Injured Workers, Early 1900s

Hi this is Rich S. from Mr. Sals period 6 U.S. History class. Businesses in the early 1900s did not provide health care for their workers. Sometimes when a worker was severely injured, they would never be able to work again because their injuries could not be treated properly. The companies did not care for their workers, they were treated cruelly and this began to create public anger due to the irresponsibility of companies.

Class Expectations

Hello this is Rich S from 6th period 20th Century. I would like to learn about how our country was formed because I would like to understand more about our country’s past. I would also like to learn about the economy problems of our country because I do not quite understand what is going on economically. I enjoy using I-Pods in class, it makes taking notes easier. Making video projects and editing them on the computer is something I am happy with doing in this class.
