Osama Bin Laden

Osama Bin Laden is known around the world as the guy who was in charge of September 11. He was made the Top ten most wanted in the world. Osama was a leader of Al-Qaeda when they knocked the Towers down. George Bush could never catch the Great Osama becuase Bush had no idea were he was at. Osama death is a huge thing in America because we been after him for like nine years and we finally caught him. I hope Obama is ready to end the war in the next few months. Osama’s death is way bigger than the royal wedding. The royal wedding has nothing to do with America and we have no business in caring about the wedding in my eyes. Osama’s death should a a parade cermony in America. Its a great day to be an American.

Tuskegee Airmen

How the Tuskegee airmen got started, the U.S. government figured as an experiment they’d attempt to train colored pilots to see if they could successfully fly in combat situations. It all started in the pre-war times, when the idea was hatched. Negro Air Corps cadets were chosen and took their flying tests which all that were chosen to go to Tuskegee passed with “flying” colors. Of the initial thirteen black pilots; five successfully completed training.
The attitudes towards the Tuskegee Airmen were not so great at times. White pilots didn’t really accept them yet as pilots nor did they really trust them in the air. Like in the movie, you saw how the two African Americans saved the two white pilots from the enemies. When the white pilots went to the base where the two African Americans were at they saw that they were African American pilots who saved them, and the white pilots didn’t respect them at all. If the Tuskegee Airmen just made one mistake the White officers would try to eliminate the Tuskegee men from missions. After a while, white pilots started respecting them because they finally saw that African Americans can actually fly planes and do what the white pilots do.
The legacies that the Tuskegee Airmen showed were that African Americans can do the same things white people do. The Airmen showed that it doesn’t matter how much stuff they had to put up with in the military. They could push through it and stay on board with the missions. African Americans did take a lot trouble in the military but they worked through it and they showed everybody that they can do it.

Kyle F WWI Game

Hello, my name is Kyle F. I am in Mr. Sal’s sixth period 20th Century class. In class we played a pretty fun game that you needed to use a stragtey for. You had to make sure you could possibly make treaties with our countries and have people on your side incase of another country wanted to go to war with your country. The country that i picked to play with was Russia. We had a big country so we thought we could be able to beat up on anyone just aslong as we got atleast another country on our side.

In the game we used our economic points on just two things. We used them on industry and on Navy. We used it on Navy mostly because if you had a lot of Navy it times your score by two for the more Navy you had. Our stratgey in the game was to make treaties with the big countries like Germany and USA. In the treaty we said we wouldn’t go aganist each other. In like the third round of the game we went into war with Austro-Hungarian. We crushed them in war because we had a bunch of Navy on our side. We broke treaties with Ottoman Empire and Great Britian. They said didnt agree with our country because we were going to team up with Usa and Germany. We only teamed up with those two countries because Germany had a huge military on their side, and Usa has alot of land and a good amount of Navy on their side. So we thought we could win the game if the three big countries teamed up on all the small countries. I am not pleased with our outcome because we ended up losing in the end. Austro-Hungarian came back with alot of Navy and had backup with them and we barely lost to them in war. The only thing I would do different would probably do different is be allies with Great Britian and Usa. Because Germany really wasn’t that good. Germany just wanted to destroy. They really didnt think out their gameplan. They just thought they could be anybody because they were Germany. Yes, I do have a better understanding of diplomacy because of the game. The game showed who trys to be the most dominate country. It showed who willing to break treaties to be on another countries side just to make their country better. Even if there not getting anything out of it.

Muckracker

Hi my name is Kyle F. I am talking about muckraker for my blog in class in 20th century. A muckraker is a person who investigates and reports. Muckrakers were normally around in the early stages of America during 1890’s and 1930’s. The writer focused on a lot of the main points in the Progressive Era time. most of the issues were meat packaging, patent medicines, and child labor. The word muckrakers came from President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 when he was giving a speech. It can mostly mean to a person somebody that “could look no way but downward”.
There were many muckrakers in the US time some people got a lot of there stuff published. Nellie Bly is an original muckraker. She published “Ten Days in a Madhouse”. Muckrakers were pretty much just like a news reporter because they report true facts. They are not like the people that try to make people live’s miserable by making up lies. Muckrakers over all were good things back in the day.

Expectations

Hi I’m Kyle f. I am in 20th century class 6th period and we are blogging. In 20th century this year I would like to learn about Vietnam and about the presidents. I would like to get better with the iPods and the smartboard in class. I want to learn about Vietnam because I heard a lot about it and I want to know more about it. What to know more about the presidents because I know a lot about most of them but I would like to know backgrounds and how good they were in office. I want to know more about computers because it is the technology of the future and computers will always be around. So I need to get better with them. The smartboard in class interested me very much. It just looks like a fun thing to use, and I want to learn how to do it.
