Royal Wedding or Bin Laden?

One reason that the Royal Wedding may be more important in the long run, more than the death of Osoma Bin Laden is because, the marriage of the Prince and the Princess is a Royal tradition that has been around for a long time.  There has been many kings and queens, prince and princesses, and every year it has gotten the same publicity just as the Royal Wedding in 2011.  The wedding will impact our futurer forever because it is a more up to date wedding and most of us all got to witness every little detail on tv.  It did deserve to have all the press and media because we can really see our own history and what it will bel like maybe 60 years from now until the next Royal Wedding.

One reason that the death of Osama Bin laden may be more important for our future is because, many people believe that he had alot to do with many different tragadies in the US.  Some believe that he had something to do with 9-11.  Others think that his kids may take his footsteps and continue on with his acts.  On the internet, they think that since his death, America faces threats towards our future more dangerous the Al Queda.

Theres always am opinoin whether or not either will be that historical in our future but i believe that the death of Osama will have a bigger impact on our future.

Osama Bin Laden, dead. Danielle W

Osama Bin Laden is known to be the worst terrorist attack on US soil. Osama was in Pakistan in a compound that he was believed to be staying in when the US soldiers killed him. After a short firefight the US took position of his body. The death of this man is going to receive more news coverage then the royal wedding would because it has more to do with America. Unlike Osama’s death the royal wedding has no real significance to what goes on in our everyday life, Osama has been a great threat to the US and now that he is dead there is not much of a scare of another attack on US soil. Some people believe that since he is dead that the war is going to end, but only time can tell.

Osama Vs. Royal Wedding (Michael N.)

The death of Osama Bin Laden will get more coverage than the Royal Wedding. The death of Osama will get more attention because it has more to do with America. His death has put many people at peace from what he did on September 11, 2001. The Royal Wedding does not have anything to do with the U.S. We never really show any interest in England unless it has to do with the Royal family. We talk about the war in Afghanistan on a day to day basis. The death of Osama Bin Laden is more relevant to the U.S. and that is why it should get more attention.

Osama bin Laden’s Death Vs Royal Wedding!

When it comes to watching TV lately, its very hard to turn it on without getting a new update. It’s not the usual weather coverage. This time it’s all talk about either the Royal Wedding or the death of the US’s Most wanted Osama bin Laden. in my opinion the most important of these events would be the death of Osama bin Laden. I am an American. I honestly am not interested in news from a wedding happening in Buckingham Palace. Sure it is history made, but not for America. The same reason why I would not expect Japan be completely interested in Obama’s election. Osama bin Laden’s death effects the US in postive ways. For all of thousands of lives that were taken on 9/11, the person responsible is gone for good.

comparing the wedding and Osama

Hi this is Patrick and here is my blog post on comparing the wedding and Osama. Osama is a very important death that the US did. Osama did many horrible things to the United States and he desirved to die. The wedding also had a huge impact on the United States as well. The wedding in my opinion was less important than the death of Usama. There were so many people that thought the wedding was so special but it really has no affect on us at all. The are in England helping them with there problems and they really dont care about what were doing so why should we have so much interest in this wedding. That is just my opinion but alot of people actually cared alot about the wedding. Osama actually had something to do with the United States because he did many horrible things to us. He was just a horrible person and they should have killed him a long time ago.

Royal Wedding and Death of Osama

Hi, this is Tyler M.  from period 1.

I feel that the death if Osama bin Laden is more important to the citzens of america then the royal wedding.  In my oppinion, his death is much more important because of what he did to us during 9/11.  He deserved death and the Americans are happy that we have finally killed him after all of these years.  The royal wedding however should not mean as much to us because we are not even from the UK, and the wedding does not really benefit us.  It is still great that there will be a new prince and princess in New England, but the death of Osama gives us a little peace of mind that such an awful person is finally dead, so we have some justice.  The royal wedding was very publicized, even in America, but it is not as important to us as Americans.  I believe that the death of Osama will be very publicized in these next few days and there will be a lot of talk about it.  This is why i feel the death of Osama bin Laden deserves more attention than the Royal Wedding.

Royal Wedding / Osama By: Ramie M

In the past week a lot of history has been made. The Royal Wedding has occured and the death of Osama Bin Laden. Both events are huge in the United States right now but I think the Royal Wedding is going to get more attention than the death of Osama Bin Laden. In my opinion I think that the death of Osama Bin Laden should get more attention than the Royal Wedding, because our troops are over their fighting for years and he has been a major threat to the U.S. Now since he has been killed he won’t be able to brian wash all the people over there and get them to follow him.

Osama&Royal Wedding (TR Norman)

I believe that Osama is going to recieve more news coverage than the Royal Wedding. The reason why i believe this is goin to be, is because Osama Bin Laden caused the war in Iraq. Osama was a threat to all Americans, he was the worlds biggest terrorist. The Royal Wedding was just an occurance that had nothing to do with Americans. The Royal Wedding did not effect Americans like the killing of the Osama. One of the biggest reason that our troops are over in Iraq is because of Osama. Now that the terrorist that was the biggest idol to other terrorist and the cause of many attacks are dead, Americans are in a big relief. Osama being killed is one of the biggest events that have happened since 9/11/01.

From “thefacebook” to “Facebook”

Facebook

Whenever she gets home from school she sits on her squeaky computer chair and turns on the computer anxiously waiting for the screen to turn bright and welcome her. She double clicks Internet Explorer and it takes her to her homepage…username: nbhs_student@gmail.com, password:*********. Twelve new notifications, she is overwhelmed with excitement because she had so many notifications since this morning at six. Jonny commented on your photo, Becca, Josh, Sarah, Margie, and Richey like your status, Izabella posted something on your wall, Ethan wrote on your wall: hey wanna have a mov…. Jeremy wants to add you as a friend. She spends 20 minutes replying to all the post and comments then looks on her “most recent newsfeed” seeing what her friends are up to, occasionally commenting or liking a status update. She stares at the screen hoping a new notification will show up . . . nothing. She logs off and repeats in about an hour, constantly checking Facebook. Facebook has been a part of our lives since 2004. It started as a hobby of College student Mark Zuckerberg, went through trouble with ConnectU, and got so big it was even made into a hit movie.

A world wide phenomenon, Facebook, has over 350 million active users and more than 55 million status updates each day. (Earl, Hafner, Heussner, Hsu, and Matyszczyk 1) It’s no secret Facebook has become a part of most of our lives. Facebook was created and commenced in February 2004 and has since blown up all over the world. Creator, former-Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg, originally called it “thefacebook” and targeted the social network site to high school students up to college teens; little did he know kids and adults of all ages would use the site. Mark started it just as one of his sideline projects with some financial help from Eduardo Saverin. Months later, Facebook and its main idea spread across all of Harvard where it was very well acknowledged. That is when it all started; months later Mark Zuckerberg and two other Harvard-students, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, teamed up to help him make Facebook even bigger. Soon after, the idea of Facebook blew up. Zuckerberg and Moskovitz dropped out of school to run Facebook, a dream of theirs. In August 2005 “thefacebook” was changed to Facebook and Facebook was bought for two-hundred thousand dollars! (Yadav 1)

Of course Facebook had its troubles. In 2004 Facebook was almost closed. On September 2, 2004, ConnectU.com, a fellow social networking site, threatened to shut down Facebook and file a lawsuit against Facebook and its five officers. The suit asked the court to shut down the site and force Zuckerberg and thefacebook.com to turn over the profits from his so-called breach of contract. ConnectU said that Mark stole their source code while he was in their employment. Zuckerberg viewed what he did at ConnectU as “informal,” contributing less than a day of work then quitting. (Mcginn 1)  In conclusion Mark denied the allegation and the lawsuit was dismissed. Looks like Facebook wins.  (Yadav 1)

Facebook is such a phenomenon that it was turned into a movie called “The Social Network.” The movie is about the founding of Facebook and the lawsuits it faced. The movie was directed by David Fincher and features a cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Armie Hammer, Max Minghella and Rooney Mara. The film won the “Hollywood Ensemble Award” from the Hollywood Awards, and was a hit in the box office. During “The Social Network’s” premiere weekend in the United States, the film opened at number 1, grossing an estimated $23 million in 2,771 theaters. Then in its second weekend it was number 1 again, dropping only 31.2 percent. The movie made huge amount of money worldwide, in the end making over 180 million dollars. In the film, Mark creates Facebook in order to impress a girl and gain popularity nationwide. The real Zuckerberg says that “The thing the film makers can’t wrap their head around the idea that someone might build something because they like building things,” then adding “the movie did have every signal shirt or fleece I ever owned right!” (Zuckerberg 1)

Facebook was only created 6 years ago but it seems like it has been here forever. People of all ages have Facebook accounts, using it to socialize, promote a band or product, build their business, and other reasons. Celebrities use it to update their fans and talk about their newest albums or upcoming shows. It has grown so much that it is now more popular then the huge MySpace.com that everyone used to have and is the number two most searched website on the internet behind Google. Also the average teenager spends over fifty-five minutes a day on Facebook. Facebook is still growing and getting better it will be around for a long time.

Remember the Titans

Question 11

Coach Yoast is presented with losing his Hall of Fame nomination during the final regional playoff game. He knew the Hall of Fame nomination was a big deal and it was a great opporinity but he also knew he had to stand up for his team when the time came. That is actually what he did, he stood up for the team because the officals were not calling a fair game so the titans would look and Coach Boone woyuld lose his job, which meant Coach Yoast would take over as head coach again. So Coach Yoast told the offical to call a fair game or he would have them arrested and he would not care if he went down with them, they would call a fair game, and they did. The leadership value/prinicple he illustrates is pride, it is pride because he did the right thing and stood up for his team and did not worry about losing the Hall of Fame because he knew he was doing the right
